Our Company
Founded in 1981, SofaSofa is a family business owned and run by the Ridgwell family. SofaSofa consists of the UK's six leading upholstery manufacturers: Thomas Lloyd, Kirkdale, Divani, Odeon, Oakridge and Leather Workshop. The business is managed by two brothers, Lloyd Ridgwell (Chief Executive) and Tom Ridgwell (Marketing Director), along with several non-family directors, and currently employs over 350 people. Our aim is to supply high quality traditional and contemporary sofas direct to the public at the lowest possible prices, together with a simple and courteous sales experience and a fast and efficient delivery service.During the last 29 years we have grown to become the UK's largest direct-selling sofa manufacturer and our range is now the largest on offer anywhere in the UK. We currently have the privilege of supplying over 1000 customers each week and can now count our previous customers in the millions.
Despite our size we maintain the core principles of any good family business: a commitment to producing excellent quality combined with a friendly and personal service. To this end we continue to manufacture all our furniture in one of our four factories in South Wales (Treorchy, Tredegar, Crumlin and Rhymney) rather than importing inferior products from abroad. Equally, we refuse to outsource our Call Centre which remains firmly in-house. We also only use our own fleet of vehicles and delivery teams, thereby ensuring the highest standards of quality and service possible.

If, when your furniture arrives and for whatever reason it is not what you expected, we will remove it and refund your money.
2. Two year guarantee
Our guarantee covers any defect in manufacture and materials, allowing for fair wear and tear, In the unlikely event of a claim, we will collect, repair and return the furniture to you entirely free of charge.

Call centre
As well as continuing to manufacture in the UK we have decided not to outsource our Call Centre abroad. Our Call Centre is based at our Crumlin factory in South Wales so the staff are in constant communication with our manufacturing arm and, as a result, very well informed about our products and services. They are also very friendly! Should you have any queries we would be delighted to hear from you. Being a family business we believe in the old-fashioned principles of friendly efficient service and we pride ourselves on providing a pleasant experience from start to finish.

Thomas Lloyd is the granddaddy of the group. Established in 1981 Thomas Lloyd specialises in Traditional Leather Upholstery of the highest quality.The company also offers a range of more modern designs in a variety of leathers whilst maintaining the emphasis on workmanship. Thomas Lloyd upholstery is manufactured from our dedicated factory in Treorchy in the heart of the Rhondda Valley. The factory has undergone a number of expansions over the last 29 years, the latest addition being an on-site frame assembly unit.
Divani was established in 1994 to produce quality contemporary fabric upholstery at an affordable price. Divani's initial range of only two models quickly grew to include modern designs with the emphasis on contrasting fabrics. Many of Divani's new designs include contrasting chair and scatter cushion fabric options in keeping with the latest fashion. Originally located at our factory in Crumlin, Divani production moved to a larger facility in Rhymney in 1997.
Established in 1995, Odeon Furniture Company produces high quality modern fabric designs including many large 4 seater sofas. Odeon furniture is all about unfussy, understated style, perfect for contemporary rooms, with the emphasis on comfort and design. All Odeon furniture is manufactured from a dedicated factory in Tredegar, South Wales.
Oakridge is housed at our 70,000 sq. ft factory in Rhymney along with Divani and Leather Workshop. Oakridge was formed in 1997 to manufacture good quality fixed and loose cover fabric furniture at the lowest prices. Since that time Oakridge has grown into one of the largest manufacturers in the UK and has recently included affordable leather designs to its range.
Leather Workshop specialises in modern leather upholstery. The range includes corner units and sofabeds in the latest leather colours. In addition to the large standard range of colours Leather Workshop also offers a supple semi-aniline leather called Saddle. While priced to compete with imported leather upholstery, Leather Workshop quality is in a different class altogether.
Kirkdale was our first fabric upholstery company founded in 1986. Kirkdale production moved to our Crumlin site in 1991 where it continues to produce high-end traditional fabric furniture at a fraction of the price of equivalent high street models. The Kirkdale range concentrates on traditional British designs and fabrics along with a number of classic loose cover models.
