It is evident that some celebrities can be rather ‘imaginative’ with their demands...

Mariah Carey is currently promoting her new single in the UK. It was reported that this internationally acclaimed singer was actually carried to the sofa of morning breakfast show GMTV by two of her ever growing entourage who “outnumbered the entire GMTV crew”, and then lowered slowly. This particular incidence caused a media frenzy not to mention left GMTV producers and presenter Kate Garraway completely baffled.

Mariah similar to many celebrities before her, allegedly made ‘diva’ like demands during her GMTV appearance. However the most perplexing occurrence was when she ordered herself to be lowered carefully into the sofa so she would not crush her dress. Nevertheless the bizarre behaviour did not stop there; the singer apparently also brought her own toilet roll to the studio and even had an individual walk backwards in front of her, so they may counteract a potential ‘fall’ crisis. She even had individuals watching to ensure she was being filmed at her best angle.

Mariah caused a huge fuss during her interview last week with GMTV's, Kate Garraway, 42, who returned to the ITV show this month after having second child Billy, Kate said: 'I've heard a lot of rumours about her being a diva and guess what - it's all true. What is more, Mariah continued the diva like demands and fuss during the This Morning's Phil Schofield interview. Though, Phil Schofield was less reluctant in voicing his opinion on the bizarre behaviour to the Star herself.

The demands from Mariah Carey do not stop there; she also allegedly insists that a new toilet seat and gold faucets are installed in her hotel suite before she checks in. She even flies in her own personal bed linens and must have enough of a certain kind of mineral water so she and her dog can bathe in it each day. What's more when on tour Mariah’s dressing room must contain one box of bendy straws, two air purifiers, puppies and kittens, an attendant to take her used chewing gum and Cristal champagne. Whatever next?

It is evident that some celebrities can get a little ‘imaginative’ with their demands. While some demands are silly, others are totally unreasonable. Whether it’s a call in advance to a luxury hotel or requests for all green jelly babies to be removed before presented to them, some celebrities are not afraid to make special requests for their so called special needs. All types of demands have come to fruition over the years. Requests vary enormously depending on the celebrity and the level of their celebrity status. We have witnessed all sorts of demands from room temperatures to be exactly 78 degrees, to hotel rooms having to be painted a particular shade of beige. There have been extreme incidences where celebrities point blank refuse to deal with traffic and request roads and even motorways to be blocked off so they may travel with no fuss. It is hard to think why rose petals in the toilet are needed or why dressing rooms must contain Moroccan drapes and be filled with candles and water pipes or what the real benefits to having a dozen long stemmed roses, with the thorns removed are. What’s more, not many of us will be able to comprehend how peach colour toilet tissue is required when it is simply to compliment a celebrity’s complexion.

Nevertheless, the every growing world of celebrities seems to be here to stay and if we are really honest, these obscure demands and episodes provide us with endless entertainment if nothing else.
