Everyone loves a night infront of the TV on a comfortable sofa!
Everyone loves the occasional night in on their
sofas, with great films available relatively cheaply on DVD, along with hundreds of channels available on the TV, staying in is the new going out!
There is plenty to choose from on TV these days, especially for those that have sky TV, subscription channels or a free-view box. Staying in with family or friends and watching a TV programme has become a ritual for people across the country, more so in these times of economic downturn, where staying in can be a much more sensible option than going out.
Reality shows such as the Apprentice run for an hour without any advert breaks. Such must see television needs to be complemented with a comfy sofa! There are plenty of deals on good quality sofas that will last. Try both local and large superstores but also do not be reluctant to use the internet when looking for a good deal. Although delivery may be expensive, you will more often find cheaper prices and a larger range of sofas online, shopping around is a must.
Try to find out what the sofa is made from and where it has been made. Sofas made in the UK are typically more expensive, but will have a higher quality of workmanship than those made abroad. It is also important to ensure that the sofa has a good level of fire resistance. Although all sofas sold in UK stores reach a certain standard, some fabrics will be more flammable than others.
Try to find a sofa that can adapt to its surroundings, so to speak. If you decide to paint the living room a different colour or change the curtains, the sofa shouldn’t have to go. If you are often re-decorating, choosing a sofa in a neutral colour should keep you happy with it for a long time to come.
With the furniture in place, those movie nights in can become a weekly habit for you and your family or friends. It’s a great way to spend some time with the kids, especially if the only way you can get them to sit still is in front of the TV! It’s a great idea to get in some popcorn or snacks for your night in, as well as a few types of soft drink or similar. It will give your movie night a great feel of authenticity, especially if you’ve organised it as a one-off with friends.
