Sofa looking a little dull? When you update the look of your living room, there's a few ways you can refresh the look of your sofa - without having to run out and run a new one!

When it’s time for a living room makeover, one of the biggest problems lies with what to do about the sofa. All it takes is for a new splash of paint and a bit of home decorating in the living room to make that sofa you spent hours choosing stand out like a sore thumb.

Without running out and buying a new sofa, there’s a couple of different ways to quickly update the look of your sofa with little expense.

Slip Covers
Slip Covers can be an ideal way to change the colour, pattern and texture of your sofa. If you have a loose cover sofa, this shouldn’t be a problem. All you have to do is find the best colour cover for your sofa in the right size and fit to instantly update the look of your living room.

Throw rugs
Incorporating a throw rug in a shade that coordinates with the new colour scheme you’ve used in the living room, and the original colour of your sofa will tie the new theme of your room together. If you haven’t experimented with throw rugs before, try placing it over the back of your sofa diagonally.

Cushions
If you’re happy with the colour and material of your sofa, cushions can freshen up the look of your sofa without covering up too much fabric.

If you want a more permanent and professional look, reupholstering your sofa is always an option - but just be warned it can be costly and could end up costing more than replacing your sofa altogether!
