As swine flu sweeps the nation, people are forced to take to their sofas...
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of relaxation you get when work is finished and you are back at home – your haven from the stresses and strains of life outside. At the end of a busy day, sometimes the last thing you want is the hassle of getting ready to go out and socialise, especially when you have a lovely
sofa inviting you to stay in and keep it company. Unfortunately it has become less of a choice for some individuals that have been affected by the current Swine Flu epidemic, and more of a necessity to relax on the sofa.
The growing Swine Flu epidemic would appear to have made a night in a more appealing aspect. The perfect night in should, of course, start with a relaxing meal. You may even prefer to treat yourself to a takeaway to eliminate the chore of cooking and, these days, you can have dinner delivered just by picking up the phone –Big sofa, lovely food and no washing up is a recipe for bliss. Follow this with some chocolate or ice cream to give you the essentials needed for a great night in without having to put your coat and shoes on.
Another must is a movie; choose something that you actually want to watch, whether it is a feel-good comedy, or something slushy and romantic, with a happy ending that you know will make you cry.
In the occasion that you have a glass of wine (or two) to go with your meal, the need for a sofa bed is instantly realized. A great sofa bed is one that offers comfort as a sofa and convenience when a bed is needed. It will be simplicity itself to unfold it and sprawl out on it as though you hadn’t a care in the world.
If you are spending the evening alone, you can add to the feeling of indulgence by having a duvet or a throw draped across one end of the sofa bed. This will still look elegant and decorative should you be invaded by unexpected visitors, but will also be useful should you find difficulty in climbing the stairs.
The perfect night in is as much for those of us who come home from a day at work feeling extremely tired by the demands made of us, as is for those who have spent all day tending to children and carrying out the everyday chores that a home needs to keep it running smoothly.
We all need to treat ourselves now and again, and planning the perfect night in when you are hard at work, will give you something to look forward to, and help you get through the day.
